Chamber Welcomes Cathy Gibson Home Staging

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Cathy Gibson Home Staging. After spending 28 years as a physical therapist and doing remodels on the side, Cathy received certifications as a Certified Staging Specialist (CSS) and a True Color Expert. Cathy has been in business for 2 years and provides home staging, color consultation and redesign for the Sandpoint area.

Home staging means to put the very best face on a house before or when it is listed for sale. Each home and situation is different, which can mean anything from painting the front door to decluttering rooms and removing and re-arranging furniture to moving and re-hanging art. 

“I often do a consultation and provide the homeowner with a detailed priority list, and other times I do some or the entire list for the owner,” explained Cathy. “I also have collected quite a supply of staging accessories, and can use them to add to what the owner has to help make a home look fresh.”

If you have questions like “what color furniture should I buy?”, “what color should I select for my floors, countertops, backsplash, sink, cabinets?”,  “what paint color do I choose if I want to use just one?”, or “if I want to have green walls and white trim, which fireplace stone should I choose?” Cathy is your go-to contact. The color consulting part of Cathy’s business has expanded from specifying interior and exterior paint colors to assisting clients with all things color related.

“A renovation always includes a long list of color choices, each one affecting the next, and I love helping people navigate through that,” said Cathy.

Redesign is “home staging” for when you are staying! 

“Many times people have rooms that aren’t being used because they aren’t comfortable, or they are downsizing, or they want a new look and need advice regarding what to get rid of, what to re-use, what to buy, and how to arrange it all. Again, sometimes that means just a consultation and other times I spend half a day with the client and get it all done.”

Chamber Welcomes Carousel Emporium

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome its newest member, Carousel Emporium!  Carousel Emporium was ppened in 2011 by Lynda Gillham who has lived in Sandpoint for the last 34 years and practiced physical therapy for the majority of that time. She always had a secret love of fashion and color and decided to act on her dream to have her own shop. Carousel Emporium offers an array of merchandise that appeals to everyone regardless of age or gender. Chamber Welcomes Talus Rock Retreat

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Talus Rock Retreat and owners, Heather and Bruce Pedersen. The ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chamber, commissioners and local friends, neighbors and family members on Monday, June 10^th, marked the official opening of their bed and breakfast, Talus Rock Retreat

Primarily catering to couples’ luxurious romantic escapes, small & intimate wedding gatherings, and unconventional corporate retreats, the new meeting space/B&B will offer a refined option for Sandpoint sojourners - a posh escape one mile from downtown Sandpoint eloquently nestled into a forested 18-acre playground with stunning views of the Cabinet Mountains. Guests will enjoy the experience of staying close to the many amenities and advantages of downtown Sandpoint, while still connecting with nature. Chamber Welcomes Jupiter Jane Traveling Café

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Laura Calvert-Peitz. Laura, the original Dish Home Cooking, is now pursuing her latest cooking passion with Jupiter Jane Traveling Café, since 2011. Their motto is ‘curbside cooking at its finest.’

Jupiter Jane Traveling Café is currently curbside at 513 Oak St next to the Eureka Institute for the summer season and is open Monday through Saturday, 10am-4ish. They are happy to stay open for parties of 6 or more and open for other reservations in the evening. Also, the café is mobile and ready to cater your business, event, party or reunion at any time!

Customer service and hospitality are Laura’s background and it is also what brought her to Sandpoint from San Francisco. She managed the Coit House Bed & Breakfast and the K2 Inn. Her goal is to serve and feed people. Her easy access, very relaxed atmosphere, and affordable, healthy food options make Jupiter Jane Traveling Café a good option for lunch or dinner. Patrons can enjoy outside dining and eat while they watch their kids play, or dine inside with seating for more than ten people.

There are food options for everyone and every age group, including Gluten Free options. They have a wonderful kale salad and a Jersey sandwich which is grilled chicken, onions, peppers, provolone and basil pesto.

Chamber Welcomes The Pottery Bug

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome The Pottery Bug. The Pottery Bug is a "paint your own pottery" studio owned by Gena Gibson in the heart of Sandpoint’s downtown core. The Pottery Bug is located at 101 N 2nd Avenue, Sandpoint, on the corner of 2nd and Pine in the Bonner Building and has available parking. 

Gena is an Idaho native and moved to Sandpoint from Boise in 2003. She was in the mortgage lending industry since 1991 and most recently was with Mountain West Bank as a Loan Processor/Closer since 2003.  After a long career in the mortgage industry, she was ready for a more creative career change.  

‘My sister opened The Pottery Bug studio in Otis Orchards, WA in May 2012,’ explained Gena. ‘The studio has been very successful and well received in her community. The Pottery Bug in Sandpoint is now our second location.’

The Pottery Bug offers affordable fun which you create. At The Pottery Bug studio, you will find hundreds of pieces to choose from and have additional fun with stickers, fun writers and bumpy paints. The only cost is the piece you choose. The process is simple: you pick a piece, create your own artwork and leave it to be glazed and fire in their kiln. 

‘We'll have your finished keepsake or gift to you in 3-5 days. We are open seven days a week.’

The Pottery Bug is affordable fun for everyone. They have a private party room for kids' birthday parties, baby or bridal showers or any special occasion. They would like to invite everyone to visit their large and bright studio. They are a great destination for school groups, youth groups, reunions or family outings. 

‘We have many projects available for Mother's Day coming in May and a special mug created for Sandpoint High School Bulldog supporters. Graduation is approaching and we can help create a great memento for your favorite graduating senior.’
